What Are the Best 2019-2023 Ford Ranger Mods?

When you think of aggressive American muscle, an icon like Rocky Balboa might come to mind, but all of us at Stage 3 Motorsports look to Ford first. Does the 2019-2023 Ford Ranger deserve this same sentiment? From stock, the Ranger doesn't quite measure up to its powerful F-150 and Super Duty counterparts, mostly due to its poor rake and small tires. Aftermarket equipment for the 2WD or 4WD Ford Ranger can turn the midsize truck into an off-road warrior, but with a large selection of parts, it can be difficult to know where to begin. To help you figure out what parts are going to be the best fit for your truck, we picked up our own Ford Ranger Build that we'll be using to modify and test new aftermarket upgrades on! Check out the project page for this Ranger build to get all the details!

2019-2023 Ranger Leveling Kits

A front or rear Leveling Kit allows your Ranger to look tough, perform better off-road and fit bigger tires. With the addition of a spacer, strut, or coilover kit, your truck becomes one step closer to this goal. Spacers are a cost-effective option without sacrificing too much ride quality or handling. Struts offer improved compression and response over stock struts for less body roll and instability on the road. Shocks offer the best ride for off-road terrain and dissipate heat faster than OEM components. Saggy rear ends are never an attractive look for any truck, especially for the Ranger. A rear shock, rear block, or an add-a-leaf kit corrects this problem so you have a completely leveled truck. Depending on the specific rear shock, the part can handle between 1"to 4.5"of lift; the part also reduces bounce over small bumps and provides less rear-end roll. The more economical rear block handles 1"of lift; it also offers a comfortable ride, better handling, and more rake for heavy towing situations. An add-a-leaf kit offers a great ride, improved carrying capacity and can handle 1.5"-2"of lift. If you are looking for a good place to start upgrading your suspension, consider the Ford Ranger FOX 2.0 Stage 1 Suspension Package. FOX Suspension coil springs and coilovers are trusted by top championship racing teams making this a real, race-proven upgrade. The stock wheels and tires on the Ranger look solid and function okay off-road, but you'll need an upgrade to do your truck justice. Once leveling upgrades are added in the front and rear, you can fit on some aggressive wheels to match the truck's new height. You can fit larger wheels onto your build for a mean look, better off-road ride, improved handling, greater load rating, and a minimized scrub radius. For tires, you'll want something better oriented for off-road travels with a tough tread pattern and stronger sidewalls. With many brands and styles, there are endless options to pursue.

2019-2023 Ranger Wheels

After upgrading to your off-road build with a nice, new leveling kit, the next logical move is upgrading your wheels. Why not? You have the extra room. Even if you do not, you can still add a new aesthetic element to your exterior with the endless styles, finishes, and offsets. There are tons of stunning looks available including matte black, gloss black, bronze, machined, chrome, and more. If you are going to upgrade your wheels, it would not be right if you did not consider some new off-road tires to complete the build. Ford Ranger Wheels and Tires are built to be stronger than the factory configuration and handle the rigors of off-road use. If you are looking for some middle of the road sized wheels, you should consider upgrading to 17" or 18". At this size, you can get more sidewall while getting the aggressive look and stance that you look for with an aftermarket wheel upgrade. When traveling off-road, you will get a smoother ride and more traction especially when you air down your new off-road tires for difficult trails. If you are looking to continue beefing up your suspension, you might consider wheel options that have lower offsets and backspacing so that you have more room for upgrades like UCAs, coilover packages, shocks, and lift kits. If you are looking for an example of one of our most popular wheel upgrades, you should check out the Black Rhino Stadium Wheel or 6x139.7mm ICON Rebound Titanium Wheel.

2019-2023 Ranger "Must Do" Overland Upgrades

Ford Ranger Overland Upgrades will take your plain, factory build and turn it into a machine built for outdoor adventure. Q: How does a leveling kit improve the Ford Ranger?

A: Look for wheels with lower offsets and backspacing to allow more room for suspension upgrades such as upper control arms (UCAs), coilover packages, shocks, and lift kits. Popular choices include the Black Rhino Stadium Wheel and the ICON Rebound Titanium Wheel for their aesthetic appeal and quality.

Q: How do I choose the right upgrades for my Ranger?

A: Consider your primary use for the truck, whether it's daily driving, off-roading,or overlanding.
